1963 all-original Bowtie flathead banjo with hang tag, factory-installed D tuners, 19 hole tone ring and original case. Case “artwork” by original owner who was obviously a big Gibson fan and very proud of his Bowtie. Dry, sweet and rich tone on this one. Full thickness brown rim. Serial number (on back of peghead) 1141xxx. Original friction 5th string tuner. Hang tag says RB250 “Special” which is likely due to the factory installed Pittman D tuners. Removed sliding 5th string capo. Installed 5th string spikes.
Banjo could benefit from a fret dressing/refret of frets 1-7 but plays fine as is.
