Description
1962 Gibson TB-250 tenor 4-string banjo. FON 60282. This banjo is from Greg Earnest’s wonder prewar Gibson banjo site: http://earnestbanjo.com/wp/gibson-tb-250-mastertone-60282-the-ronald-blanchette/
The original owner of #60282 was Ronald Blanchette (1949-2009), a native of New Hampshire who spent most of his life in south Florida. Beginning at age thirteen, Ronald studied tenor banjo and guitar, later also learning saxophone. His musical talents led to an appearance on Ted Mack’s “The Original Amateur Hour” and to a regular engagement with a Dixieland trio providing entertainment on The Kanawha, a sternwheeler operating out of Delray Beach. #60282 remains in excellent original condition and is housed in its original case with “Gibson” badge; this TB-250 remained in the family of Ronald Blanchette until October 2022.
